LUKAS BURGER
Owner and Head Professional

Lukas Burger has been actively participating in tennis for over ten years.  His love for the sport of tennis began as a child and has continued since.  Lukas played, traveled, and competed for many years under the direction of Steve Stefanki, who is still much a part of Lukas' life.

While in high school, he spent his summers in Santa Cruz, taking part in the Nike Tennis Camp program where he learned the necessary skills to become a coach.  From there, he continued on to play college tennis for American River College and after two years, transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara.  However, after a series of unfortunate events, Lukas was unable to play tennis for the men's team at UCSB.  He was able to remain as part of the team by becoming an assistant to the team's trainer.

After two years in Santa Barbara, Lukas returned to Davis to continue coaching at Stonegate Country Club.  He recently took over the tennis program and under his direction; Stonegate Tennis Academy is on the road to becoming a premier tennis academy in Davis and the surrounding areas.

VACLAV BURGER
Touring and Teaching Professional

Vaclav Burger is a USPTA certified tennis professional who has been teaching since 2003 and has been playing competitively ever since he fell in love with the game at seven years old.  His junior career saw success as a highly ranked national player with a ranking in California of #2 in doubles and #7 in singles with the USTA, which allowed him to travel and play internationally with the ITF.  He led his high school tennis team to their first Sac – Joaquin Section Title in 15 years, while graduating early to further pursue his tennis as a professional.

Vaclav set his sights on the pro tour while reaching a top 20 ranking in Men’s Open events in California in preparation for entry into ATP Futures events.   He has played professionally for a number years with his highest professional standing to date being #217 in the USA.

Vaclav was also recruited to play tennis in college.  He chose to attend the University of California, Berkeley, but was plagued with an unfortunate string of career ending injuries that resulted in brief spans of play in the Pac-10 alongside his fellow Golden Bears.

The opportunity to learn from names like Lary Duque, Kevin O’niell, and Steve Stefanki has provided him with the character, foundation, and techniques to succeed.  Vaclav has worked and trained alongside past World Team Tennis Champions, top ATP and WTA world ranked players, and Grand Slam Champions.  He is excited to develop the skills of new tennis enthusiasts.
